I am honored to have been appointed President of Kaplan University (KU). I have been with KU for nearly eight years in various roles including Dean of the Graduate School of Management (now part of the School of Business and Information Technology), Dean of Students and, most recently, Provost. No matter the title, I’ve always been inspired by our students, faculty, and staff who I’ve had the privilege to meet and work with.

My vision for KU is the same as yours—a first-rate university focused on empowering you, our students, faculty, and staff to reach your career goals. Our mission is very clear and I believe in it wholeheartedly: to provide innovative undergraduate, graduate, and continuing professional education that fosters learning with opportunities to launch, enhance, or change careers.
None of us is defined solely by our careers, and I am no different. I am the mother of a 26-year-old son, Martin, who is a musician trying to make it in Brooklyn—definitely not a chip off the old block. I live in Chicago, Illinois where I have two bicycles (one for errands and one for fun) and no car. I take the bus to work and know just about all there is to know about Chicago’s public transit system. In addition to bicycling, I enjoy sailing and I love to cook and read. If you have a reading suggestion or a good recipe, please send it my way.
I can be reached at email@example.com and would love to hear from you.
