Wendy Mason

Dr. Wendy Mason joined Kaplan University in 2008 as a part-time professor in the RN-to-BSN program, and was appointed a full-time faculty member in 2010. Her responsibilities currently include teaching in the RN-to-BSN program and serving as the lead faculty member for the Professional Holistic Nursing course. Dr. Mason also participates on School of Nursing and University wide committees.

Dr. Mason has practiced in a variety of settings as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, including inpatient, community, and her own private practice. She has served as an educator in NAC, RN, RN-BSN, MSN, PhD, and DNP programs. Dr. Mason has also served in administration in the graduate programs at Kaplan University. She has a broad history of participating in program development and accreditation. Dr. Mason has published a number of articles, presented trainings for health care institutions, and offered consultations to primary care providers.

Dr. Mason holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Master of Science Nursing from Washington State University. She completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Transformative Studies at the California Institute of Integral Studies. She is a member of the American Holistic Nurses Association and is pursuing the certification of Holistic Nurse Baccalaureate Board Certified (HNB-BC). Dr. Mason is a peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission.
