Susan Kieffer, DBA, MSN/Ed, RN Academic Chair, RN-to-BSN Program, Kaplan University School of Nursing
Dr. Susan Kieffer began her journey at Kaplan University in 2007 as an adjunct faculty member in the School of Nursing. From 2009 to 2014, she served as a full-time faculty member until she assumed her current position as Academic Chair of the RN-to-BSN program. Her responsibilities primarily include the hiring, management, and evaluation of all BSN faculty members, overseeing the BSN curriculum in conjunction with course leads and the Assistant Dean of Curriculum, and participating in student recruitment and retention activities.
Prior to her time at Kaplan University, Dr. Kieffer worked in the practice areas of medical-surgical nursing, critical care nursing, and home health nursing at Kingman Regional Medical Center in Kingman, Arizona, and as a clinical instructor at Mohave Community College. Dr. Kieffer later served overseas for three years as a Christian missionary in Transylvania, Romania.
Dr. Kieffer earned her Doctor of Business Administration and Management degree from Northcentral University, and her doctoral research focused on the economic practices of the Roma population of Transylvania. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing Education degrees from the University of Phoenix. Dr. Kieffer also possesses Associate of Applied Science degrees in registered nursing and in general technology, both earned at Mohave Community College.
