Sheila Quinn Rucki
Dr. Sheila Quinn Rucki joined Kaplan University as an adjunct faculty member in 2009. She serves as the faculty advisor for Phi Rho, the Kaplan University Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International.
In addition to teaching in the RN-to-BSN, the on-ground BSN, and the Master of Science in Nursing programs, she is the course lead for NU 450: Public Health Nursing: Population and Community Health Care in the Community.
She serves as a member of the University's Curriculum Committee, the School of Nursing’s Curriculum Committee, and Assessment and Evaluation Committee.
Prior to joining Kaplan University, Dr. Rucki served as chair of the graduate nursing program at American International College and is a pediatric clinical nurse specialist at Baystate Children’s Hospital. She is a past president of the Society of Pediatric Nursing. She also serves as a consultant to public schools throughout Western Massachusetts to address the care of children with special health care needs. Dr. Rucki also serves on the Sigma Theta Tau Nurse Leader Review Task Force and has served as chair for the Research Dissemination Award Committee.
Dr. Rucki is licensed as a registered nurse in the states of Arizona, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, and Massachusetts. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy with a higher education administration focus from the University of Connecticut School of Education and received a Master of Science in Nursing as a pediatric clinical nurse specialist and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boston College.
