Dr. Lynda Crawford joined Kaplan University as the associate dean for campus nursing in 2017. Her responsibilities include oversight of campus-based prelicensure baccalaureate and associate degree programs. She is responsible for program quality and faculty development and supports program leaders as they work to meet the mission of Kaplan University.
Prior to joining Kaplan, Dr. Crawford taught at Emory, Rutgers, Walden, Kaplan and Resurrection universities. She held the position of associate dean on nonprofit management at Spertus Institute and assistant dean of research and scholarship at Resurrection University. She also worked at the National League for Nursing and National Council of State Boards of Nursing as a member of their senior staffs. Dr. Crawford has taught at the University of Transkei in South Africa, published multiple manuscripts and monographs, and presented research internationally.
Dr. Crawford has a doctorate from Georgia State University in Nursing with a Community Health focus and a Masters in Nursing Education from Emory University. She has held leadership roles in nursing organizations and helped establish a nursing honor society. Dr. Crawford has provided mentorship for the scholarship efforts of graduate students, nursing faculty, medical residents, and staff nurses and was the founding Chair of a university Institutional Review Board.
