Jane McElligott is a full-time professor in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, formerly known as the School of Legal Studies, at Kaplan University and teaches a variety of courses, including Eight Skills of the Effective Legal Studies Student, Introduction to Law, Family Law, Criminal Law, and Legal Philosophy. Ms. McElligott earned her bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School in Boston. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in criminal justice at Kaplan University. She has practiced family law and social security disability law and served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Massachusetts Lowell School of Law and Northern Essex Community College in Massachusetts. She has a passion for animal Law, and enjoys running every morning and walking with her Cocker Spaniel and Yorkie.
