Dean Poirier, JD
Dean R Poirier holds a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Law, a Master of Arts in International Studies from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Bridgewater State College. While at Fairleigh-Dickinson, he worked as a research assistant to Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations.
Dean was admitted to state and federal law practice in North Carolina in 1993. He worked in a private law practice and as an independent training consultant for Lawyers Cooperative Publishing and West Publishing in North Carolina and Virginia.
Dean is currently employed as an appeals referee with the North Carolina Department of Commerce Division of Employment Security.
He has taught over 30 different law courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition to teaching for Kaplan University, Dean has also taught for Liberty University, Mount Olive College, and North Carolina Wesleyan College. He has also taught accredited continuing legal education (CLE) courses in computerized legal research and administrative law.
