Tyra Hall-Pogar

Dr. Hall-Pogar started with Kaplan University in 2010 as an adjunct instructor and was promoted to a full-time faculty position in 2014. In addition to being a faculty mentor, she is also the course leader for SC 430: Molecular and Cellular Biology. Dr. Hall-Pogar received her PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. As a trained biochemist/molecular biologist, her research was centered on the RNA molecule and focused on 3’ end processing and polyadenylation. In addition to experience in the lab she has also spent time working in the pharmaceutical advertising industry. She is most proud of being a professor that can share her experience and knowledge with others. Dr. Hall-Pogar has a wonderful husband and three precious children. In her spare time enjoys watching Food Network and HGTV.
