Teresa Marie Kelly

A long-time educator, Teresa Marie Kelly (TK) has a Bachelor of Arts in English and Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary English from Agnes Scott College. She has been teaching online since 1999 and joined Kaplan University in 2002 as an adjunct before becoming full-time in 2003. In addition to her work with first-term students and emerging writers, TK has a passion for using technology in education. Her current research encourages educators to take a low-tech, low-cost, and low-stress approach to high-tech tools and how to use narrative and mentoring to engage learners. A life-long resident the Georgia coast, TK spends most days with a coffee in one hand and some type of computer—laptop, tablet, or Kindle—in the other. Her interests include rescuing dogs, her niece, cooking, homeopathic and aroma therapies, and all things sports and English/Scottish/Irish/Welsh. A great day for her is cooking with coffee while discussing sports or dogs with her students.
