Nikki Williams

Nikki Williams is assistant academic chair for the science department at Kaplan University. She has been an adjunct mathematics instructor with Kaplan University since 2009. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Spelman College, Master of Science in Computational and Applied Mathematics from Rice University, and Master of Science in Finance from Kaplan University.

With over 16 years of experience in teaching mathematics, Nikki has taught college mathematics in an online environment, taught face-to-face classes for several colleges in Georgia and Florida, and has taught mathematics at the high school level. In addition to these experiences, she has corporate experience in programming and performing actuarial duties.

Nikki has been able to dedicate most of her academic career to improving the retention and recruitment of underprivileged students in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. She has written several successful grants that have resulted in scholarships, computers and other equipment, and a summer camp. She enjoys event planning and has planned national and local conferences, scholarship fundraisers, and reunions, as well as departmental events.
