Phyllis Schiffer-Simon, PhD

Dr. Phyllis Schiffer-Simon has a vast background in education including over 30 years in:

  • K-12 education
  • Special education
  • Higher education (teaching and virtual course development)
  • Administration and educational leadership
  • Distance education and virtual education
  • Curriculum and project design and delivery
  • Educational and instructional television broadcasting.

Dr. Schiffer-Simon has experience in many different aspects of education including K-12 education, special education, and higher education. She began her career as a special education teacher and worked with both disabled and gifted and talented students for many years. She also served as a district-level administrator developing courses for the FL DOE K-12 Gifted Certification Endorsement.

Dr. Schiffer-Simon holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University, an Educational Specialist degree in Computer Education from Barry University, a Master of Science in Exceptional Education from Adelphi University, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Boston University.

She currently serves as a full-time professor for the Kaplan University in the Graduate School of Education and is president of EduTech Strategies, Inc.
