Dr. Craig McCoy
Since 2001, Dr. Craig McCoy has been teaching graduate students online and on campus at Kaplan University in the School of Business and Information Technology.
Prior to joining the University, he served as corporate president for 23 years at McCoy & Associates, Inc., an architectural consultancy focusing on the promotion and sale of specialty building products used in commercial and industrial construction. His business background offers him the opportunity to share valuable insights in the study of entrepreneurship, leadership, team collaboration, and organizational behavior with Kaplan University students. In the past, he mentored doctoral students in research methods and served on dissertation committees.
In addition to teaching, Dr. McCoy has worked in partnership for the design, development, and marketing of an office park complex. He also shared his professional skills and international experience by volunteering with the U.S. Center for Citizen Diplomacy. As a member of the Institute of Behavioral and Applied Management (IBAM), Dr. McCoy has presented research papers that have been published in management journals. Key personal accomplishments include earning the rank of Eagle Scout (age 15), running his first marathon (age 30), and being a lifelong learner (at all ages).
Like many Kaplan University students, Dr. McCoy returned to the classroom to seek additional academic training, earning a PhD online from Walden University. He believes that online education, which has its unique benefits and challenges, is a marvelous innovation in the world of higher education, permitting many people to pursue educational goals while also maintaining balance in their regular lives.
“Dr. McCoy’s expertise is in the study of leadership and organizational change utilizing a qualitative research methodology. He is a full-time faculty member for Kaplan University's Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Management programs and serves as a mentor, course lead, course developer, and member of the Kaplan Academic Administrative Council."
