W. Christopher “Chris” Motz

Mr. Motz is president of Kaplan University campuses in both Hagerstown and Rockville, a position he has held since 1998. His began his career at Kaplan University in 1997 as academic dean of the Hagerstown campus. He earned a bachelor's degree in religion from Huntington College (Indiana) and two graduate degrees: a master's of divinity from Huntington and a master's degree in higher education from Ball State University. He is also a graduate of the Institute for Educational Management at Harvard University's Graduate School of Education. He is former chairman of the Hagerstown-Washington County Chamber of Commerce and currently serves as chairman of the Greater Hagerstown Committee.

Mr. Motz is also actively involved with the Hagerstown-Washington County Chamber of Commerce, the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of Hagerstown and the Mason-Dixon Council Boy Scouts of America. He is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Washington County and a member of Leadership Maryland Class of 2007. Recently, Mr. Motz was appointed as the only market-based educational representative to the Governor's P-20 Leadership Council of Maryland.
