Michael Malmstrom

Mike holds the position of associate dean for the Lincoln Campus, Kaplan University. Previously Mike has held the position of criminal justice chair and has been an adjunct professor for years. Mike has a master's in public administration and a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Nebraska. Mike has also recently earned his second master's degree in legal studies. Active in academia, he has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at several Midwestern universities. Mike has retired one and a half times, with over 20 years of law enforcement experience and 21 years of service with the Army National Guards. Mike was a uniform policeman for his first 5 years and a criminal investigator the rest of his tenure. Mike specialized in violent crimes, primarily homicides and child abuse cases. Mike also has experience in corporate and campus security. Mike is NIMS certified and a member of ASIS.
