HR Certification Preparation Course

Kaplan University, Des Moines campus, is pleased to announce its partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world's largest association devoted to human resource management, to offer courses to help HR professionals prepare for SHRM's new competency-based certification: the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credentials. 

Utilizing the preparation tools from SHRM, our courses are designed to help professionals prepare for the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP exams.*

Spring SHRM Prep Course will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Kaplan University in Urbandale, Iowa from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. The prep course will begin on March 7, 2017, and end April 27, 2017. There will be no classes held the week of March 13 in observance of spring break. 

The cost of the course is $1,299, which includes all materials and online access to the SHRM Learning System.© The Des Moines campus is located at: 4655 121st Street, Urbandale, Iowa.

  • Applicants must show that they have worked in an HR role for more than 1,000 hours within a calendar year, which equates to 1 year of experience.
  • HR experience may be in an HR exempt or nonexempt capacity.
  • Applicants with a graduate degree (or global equivalency) in HR must currently be employed in an HR role.
  • HR experience may be classified directly, as working in an HR role, or indirectly, by consulting, educating or researching HR practices linked specifically to human resource management.
