The CareerNetwork is available to all active students, graduates, and alumni of Kaplan University. It is designed as a social platform for our students and graduates to collaborate with each other and the Career Services team. Career Services staff monitor the CareerNetwork from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm ET daily and can answer specific job search questions.
Students can also use the CareerNetwork to search for jobs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This also includes the job tracker tool, which has been created specifically for Kaplan University students and focuses on positions related to a student’s program of study and geographic location. The job tracker houses job postings from CareerBuilder and its partners, offering a large number of opportunities for students to view.
The job tracker feature will also record each job seeker’s specific search activity. Students and alumni can review how many jobs they have viewed and applied for, and can keep track of the positions for which they are interviewing. This data is beneficial in helping applicants follow up on potential leads and gauge their actual efforts within the job search. It also assists in conversations with a student’s assigned Career Specialist, who can give additional advice on resumes, interviewing skills, and networking assistance.
In addition to its social function, the CareerNetwork allows students and graduates to create a professional profile that offers them the opportunity to:
Complete a work interest assessment
Build a resume and cover letter using the online tool Optimal Resume
Schedule time to meet with a Career Specialist
Update current employment status
Apply for employment opportunities specific to individual programs of study and geographic area
