    Tau Upsilon Alpha_150

The Tau Upsilon Alpha (TUA) chapter is recognized by the National Organization for Human Services Honor Society.  The goal is to "honor academic excellence; to foster lifelong learning, leadership and development; and to promote excellence in service to humanity."

Kaplan University instructor Juliet Bradley, PhD, LSW, from the Human Services department, has offered her guidance and leadership skills to help the chapter grow into yet another successful Kaplan University student organization by serving as an organization advisor.

During the honor societies installation process at Kaplan University, 30 students will be inducted as founding members in May 2014 through an online induction ceremony where students, administration, and spectators will be present to witness this special occasion.

Founding member and newly elected student president Alyssa Ficeto states, "I would like to see this chapter accomplish one thing: lead others when called upon and help develop more character in life as the future awaits."

Following their official induction date, TUA will fall in line with the other honor societies by inviting eligible students to join their organization twice a year by email. Future students eligible for an invite must have a minimum of a 3.25 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and be in the top 35 percent of their class.

The Kaplan University chapter would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of four staff members: Cheryl Bradt-Hyland; Julie Riley, department chair; Juliet Bradley and Patricia Grace; Kaplan University instructors from the Department of Human Services.
