Kaplan University’s chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS), an honor society for high-achieving college students, welcomed 120 new inductees via a virtual ceremony that was held on November 8, 2014.

Kathy Gonzales, the current president of the Kaplan University chapter of NSCS, shared her thoughts on the occasion: “As the Executive Board of NSCS, we couldn’t have been more thrilled with the turnout to our 2014 Fall Induction Ceremony. With more than 180 online attendees, this ceremony had more attendees than the last three ceremonies combined! Approximately 120 of those in attendance were new inductees. I think those numbers really speak to the community that is the National Society of Collegiate Scholars at Kaplan University. It is truly an honor and a pleasure to be part of this society. On a personal level, I am proud of our members who are making the most of their university experience—whether they are working on our newsletter, supporting each other in the student parent support group, participating in community service projects, or engaging with each other on social media.”

Kaplan University instructors Dr. Ellen Manning and Dr. Russell Fail serve as organization advisors for the chapter. The Kaplan University chapter of NSCS currently has 10,039 lifelong members. NSCS is open to first- and second-year college students who hold a 3.4 cumulative grade point average or better.
