South Portland Campus Exterior
A Part of the Local Community
In 1973, the Andover Institute of Business was acquired by Educational Associates, Inc., a Maine company. Its name was later changed to Andover College, and it became the first school of its kind in Maine to receive accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges Commission on Technical and Career Institutions.
In 2005, Andover College joined the Kaplan community. The campus relocated to its current address on Western Avenue in South Portland in 2008, and soon after became a part of Kaplan University. With a sister campus in Lewiston, the South Portland campus offers students a choice of associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in legal studies, business and management, and many other fields.
