Dress for Success is a non-profit organization that provides interview suits, confidence boosts, and career development to low-income women in over 75 cities worldwide.

The organization was originally founded in New York City in 1997 with its aim to help referred clients find and maintain a job. Since opening its doors, Dress for Success has served more than 700,000 women around the world. Referred clients go through an interview process and are typically referred by homeless shelters, immigration services, educational institutions, domestic violence shelters, and many other organizations.

While Dress for Success is best known for providing suits to women, one of its main goals is helping clients retain their new careers. Focus is also placed on helping clients become economically independent and self-sufficient individuals.

In order to offer continued support for a lifetime, Dress for Success established three helpful resources for their clients:

    • Professional Women’s Group (PWG) which allows clients to attend meetings worldwide and stay connected though continuing education.
    • Career Center which is an initiative that promotes confidence and professionalism by providing women career guidance and the opportunity to acquire technology skills and assistance in their job searches.
    • Steps to Success which is available to all Dress for Success clients to provide support during the first 30 days of employment. This helps these women overcome any barriers or challenges they may face while stepping out into the working world.

This inspiring non-profit organization relies on financial contributions, donations, and volunteer effort from companies and individuals. All contributors to this organizations are devoted to the helping disadvantaged women thrive in both their careers and lives.
