Learning Center Experience
Dr. Grissom joined Kaplan University as an adjunct professor in 2012 and became a full-time faculty member in 2014. Her responsibilities include serving as course lead for NU 310 and she recently revised the NU 310 curriculum. She has also taught courses in the MSN program. Dr. Grissom also serves on several SON and university wide committees including, the SON assessment and evaluation committee, the SON faculty curriculum committee, and the ethics committee for the university. She is currently serving as a delegate for the Phi Rho chapter of Sigma Theta Tau.
Dr. Grissom has 15 years of clinical nursing experience in the areas of OR, adult ICU, coronary care, and emergency nursing. She served as an ACLS instructor for 5 years and has instructed and mentored new nurses in the emergency department. She also has experience as a traveling nurse in the areas of ICU and ER. Dr. Grissom has served as vice president and president of the South MS Medical Alliance for the AMA and also held a state wide position as membership Chair for the MS State Medical Alliance for the AMA.
Dr. Grissom received her PhD in nursing administration and education from William Carey University in 2016. She received her MSN in Nursing Education in 2011 from Kaplan University and her BSN in 1989 from the University of Southern Mississippi.
