    Marketing and Human Behavior Certificate

    The Marketing and Human Behavior Certificate is designed to provide psychological operations service members (USACAPOC & MISOC) advanced understanding in the areas of consumer behavior and communication. 

    Program coursework covers tactical marketing, intercultural and nonverbal communication, world culture and conflict, and emerging digital tools and technologies. 

    The certificate can be used as part of a four-step educational path to a bachelor’s degree. It allows the student to obtain key occupational skills and credentials along the path. Military training or experience may provide additional credits to be applied toward the bachelor’s degree. And students can immediately put their skills to work as they work toward their bachelor’s degree.

  • The Marketing and Human Behavior Certificate consists of five courses. The course options are provided below:

    Consumer Behavior: This course provides an overview of consumer behavior and explains how it impacts marketing strategy. (Required)

    World Conflict: This course provides a global perspective on conflict and, in particular, the cultural, political, and religious beliefs that have helped to define the concept of terrorism in the twenty-first century.

    Humanities and Culture: Beginning with early village settlements through the rise of cities and ending with the development of modern nations, soldiers will study the expression of human ideas and traditions through material and nonmaterial culture.

    Communication and Conflict: This course focuses on the nature of communication and conflict in interpersonal and organizational contexts.

    Tools for the Digital Age: Introduces students to the concepts necessary for effectively using new technologies and digital tools. Students will be able to decide what tools are most appropriate.

    Enhancing Nonverbal Communication in a Global Society: This course explores the impacts of cultural differences on the process of nonverbal communication. Emphasis is given on how cultural perceptions and experiences determine how people send and receive messages.

    Applied Behavioral Analysis I: Students will begin to understand techniques such as modification reinforcement, punishment, extinction, discrimination training, generalization, shaping, classical conditioning, conditioned reinforcement, and schedules of reinforcement.

    International Relations: This course examines the various dynamics and political actors involved in formulating foreign policy and the values that guide specific foreign policy approaches.
