Kaplan University, Mason City campus, was established as Hamilton College in 1900 and has the distinction of being the oldest continuously operating career college in Iowa specializing in business education. In 2007, all seven Hamilton College campuses became part of Kaplan University. Each campus maintains close ties within its community and surrounding communities, resulting in graduates employed throughout the Midwest. The Mason City campus offers a variety of associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees with the flexible choice of day, night, and online classes.

Kaplan University, Mason City campus, offers a variety of student life activities that could help you further your personal and professional goals. For example, the Criminal Justice Club sponsors activities such as Seniors and Law Enforcement Together forums, National Night Out, field trips to prisons, youth facilities, crime labs, and more. The club has participated in role-playing activities with the Strategic Operations Group of the North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force and the criminology class at Mason City High School. Other notable on-campus organizations include the Medical Professionals Club and the Student Senate.
