    Regina Kraus, Faculty, Health Information and Billing and Coding

    Regina Kraus has been part of Kaplan University’s faculty since 2010 for the health information and billing and coding programs. She is a subject matter expert for ICD-10-CM/PCS coding classification system with primary teaching assignments of Medical Coding I and Medical Coding II, billing and coding certificate program practicum, and reimbursement methodologies. In 2013, the School of Health Sciences presented Ms. Kraus with the Outstanding Curriculum Revision and Innovation Award. She earned the School of Health Sciences Outstanding Course Lead Award in 2016.

    Ms. Kraus has over 26 years of experience and work history in health information technology, quality improvement, risk management, and health care billing and revenue along with accreditation and licensure survey preparations for both acute care hospital and behavioral health organizations.  

    Her educational background includes Master of Science in Health Care Administration from Central Michigan University, Bachelor of Arts in Health Care Administration from Capital University, and Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Technology from Sinclair Community College. Certifications and training experience as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and an AHIMA-Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS trainer.
