If you are ready to experience the tremendous
satisfaction that comes from preparing adolescents for the future, the Master of
Arts in Teaching program at Kaplan University is designed to help you develop
the necessary professional competencies to teach grades 5 through 12. The Iowa certification track is designed for professionals either living
in the state of Iowa or in close enough proximity to be able to conduct weekly
field experiences in an Iowa school. Candidates who successfully complete all
program and graduation requirements will be recommended for Iowa licensure.*

While this program will not lead to certification, it is designed to prepare you with a solid foundation to pursue alternative routes to teacher certification, if state certification is your goal.

Looking to develop additional competencies in a specific field of education? Kaplan University’s master’s-level certificate programs in the School of Graduate Education are designed for motivated educational professionals like you. The Graduate Certificate in Online Teaching includes four courses from the Master of Science in Higher Education curriculum. Courses help prepare students to work successfully with adult learners, create and facilitate effective online instruction, and assess student learning in the online context.

Time to Complete: Minimum of 4 terms (full-time)
Certain courses offered by Kaplan University are available to nondegree-seeking participants. Upon successful completion of a course, the participant may transfer the credits earned toward a degree at Kaplan University if the course for which the student is seeking to transfer the credits earned is part of the Kaplan University degree program.
