    Tilahun Ayanou, PhD

    Dr. Tilahun Ayanou began teaching at Kaplan University in 2009, becoming a full-time faculty member in 2012. He has taught a variety of economics and business courses in on-campus, hybrid, and online classrooms since the mid-1990s. Dr. Ayanou currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at Minot State University, and has taught at Strayer University, University of Phoenix, and Elgin Community College.

    Dr. Ayanou's experience includes working as an economist and assistant accountant. As a senior economist for the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning in Ethiopia, he took part in soliciting and managing development-related bilateral economic and financial cooperation between Ethiopia; European countries; and multilateral organizations such as the European Union, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), International Monetary Fund (IMF), and World Bank.

    Dr. Ayanou has a PhD in Economics. His fields of specialization are monetary economics, macroeconomics, and international finance. His educational background also includes a Master of Economics degree as well as an undergraduate degree in economics with a minor in accounting.
