Learning Center Experience
Dr. Richard Carter has
been employed by Kaplan University since 2004. Dr. Carter explains that the
best part of teaching is working with those students who are the first in their
families to seek a college education. Their desire to learn inspires
instructors and other students alike.
Dr. Carter remains
active in research activities. In the past two years he has published in the
areas of macroeconomics and finance. His published work includes: “Fiscal
Spending Stimulus, a Historical Perspective,” “A Multiple Regression Analysis:
Fiscal Strategies and Unemployment Rates,” and “Behavioral Finance.” Dr. Carter
is also a journal reviewer for the Franklin Publishing Company.
Dr. Carter’s community
service roles include a volunteer income tax preparer for low-income taxpayers
(IRS VITA program) and Pi Beta Lambda program advisor. Special recognition for Dr.
Carter’s service learning activities includes nominations for the Harward Award
for Service Learning and the Fellowship Maine Campus Compaq.
Dr. Carter has been
married for 28 years and is a father of two. He enjoys hiking in the Mount
Washington Valley of New Hampshire and studies martial arts.
