Learning Center Experience
Dr. Charles A. Fail is a true entrepreneurial scholar-practitioner. As a business practitioner, his business experience includes customer service management, retail store management, and corporate middle management within the information technology and life insurance sectors, new business venture creation, business ownership and operational management.
Upon his semiretirement in 2007, he culminated a 17-year career as chairman and president of a successful wholesale and retail musical instrument firm. His other business ventures ranged from computer software development to antiques and collectibles businesses.
In addition to his business experience, Dr. Fail is recognized as one of the nation’s leading experts in the restoration of vintage musical instruments and an award-winning sculptor.
He has been featured in Atlanta Magazine, Southern Living Magazine, and on CNN’s Across America television show. He is an executive member of the Academy of Management in Entrepreneurship and is a fellow in the Life Management Institute.
Dr. Fail began his teaching career as an adjunct instructor at Kaplan University in 2005. In 2008, he became a full-time member of Kaplan University faculty. He has taught Introduction to Management, Introduction to Business, and Academic Strategies for the Business Professional. Since 2008, he has served as co-course lead for the first experience Introduction to Management courses at Kaplan University.
In April 2010, he delivered a paper titled “The Case for Subjective Entrepreneurship Research at the Qualitative Research in Management Conference” in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In March 2011, he copresented a presentation at the Midwest Scholars Conference in Indianapolis: Demystifying Phenomenology. He is currently authoring a book on entrepreneurship.
