A Message From Dr. Betty Vandenbosch

    Happy New Year, folks!

I thought I’d kick off this year telling you about something I’m proud of here at the University.

  • Recently, we held our first Interdisciplinary Virtual Student Research Symposium. Nearly 100 Kaplan University faculty, staff, and students participated in two concurrent sessions.

Students submitted 40 pieces of original research, of which 16 were chosen for presentation. Topics such as The Use of Applied Behavioral Analysis in Veterans, Transportation Options for the Future,The Effects of Workplace Bullying were addressed.

    Symposium

Fifty-five faculty members throughout the University proposed and volunteered to chair 30 research tracks.

Dr. Kristina Setzekorn, Academic Chair of the Graduate Information Technology Department in the School of Business and Information Technology organized the symposium. And, I'd have to agree with her; it was a great way to showcase our talented students, our engaged faculty mentoring them, and the services offered to support them.

This is just one of the ways Kaplan University is unique and engages our students who, for the most part, are studying remotely. It's this type of work that challenges us, informs the work we do outside of the classroom and keeps us all at our best.

What topics do you want to research? I'd love to hear about your ideas at president@kaplan.edu.
