  • At Kaplan University, we stand behind our academic quality. Take our 3-week trial.

At Kaplan University, we are committed to your education, your goals—you. That's why we've introduced the Kaplan Commitment℠. We believe you should have the opportunity to experience Kaplan University for an introductory period with no tuition obligation. It's part of our core principles that ground us, guide us, and ensure our dedication to helping you succeed.

YOU DESERVE THE CHANCE TO DEVELOP YOUR TALENT.

    We believe in your talent.

Kaplan University was founded on the belief that every person with talent, regardless of age or circumstance, deserves the chance to develop it. We recognize the value of real-world experience and previously earned credits to ensure no eligible student wastes time or money on courses and skills already attained.

YOU SHOULD EXPERIENCE CLASSES BEFORE YOU PAY FOR THEM.

We believe if we’re not right for you then you shouldn’t be financially obligated to us.

The Kaplan Commitment is a new way for you to get to know us and for us to get to know you. There's no financial obligation beyond the application fee. It's available to new students, online or on campus. It's simple. Here’s how it works:

    • Enrollment: You’ll attend real classes for real credits.* Then decide during our introductory period if we're right for you. If not, all you owe is the application fee. These classes count toward your degree if completed.
    • Week 1: You’ll begin the 3-week introductory period, during which you’ll get exposed to our curriculum, faculty, and classroom or online platforms. If at any point during the introductory period you decide we’re not right for you, you can opt out with no tuition cost or other financial obligation to Kaplan University, except for the application fee.
    • Week 3: This is the checkpoint week. It marks the end of your introductory period, and is the time to let us officially know if you no longer wish to continue. Otherwise, if you’re meeting our academic standards, and have submitted all required documentation, you will move forward with your Kaplan University education.
    • Week 10: The first term ends. If you meet all academic and course requirements, you will earn your course credits and continue your degree path.

Additional terms may apply to international students and non-U.S. citizens. International students are defined as individuals who live outside the United States, excluding members of the U.S. military, and who are not eligible for Title IV funding or are eligible for Title IV funding but choose not to use that funding.

YOU SHOULD BE SUPPORTED THROUGHOUT YOUR EDUCATION.

We believe in support that begins before you enroll and prepares you for success after you graduate.

You'll get personalized support from a network of financial, education, and admissions advisors. They take into account the individual demands of your life. Whether it's explaining your financial aid options or helping you select the right courses for you, you won't be on your own. Once enrolled, you'll learn from professors who bring valuable, real-world experience. Along the way, you can take advantage of career services including resume workshops and interviewing, networking webinars, and our alumni network.

YOUR EDUCATION SHOULD BE TAILORED TO YOU.

We believe a university should adapt to its students—not the other way around.

We understand nontraditional students—working parents, late bloomers, career changers—have obligations beyond school. As a university that's student driven for driven students, you'll attend classes in a flexible learning environment with schedules designed to fit your life. With the freedom to take classes on campus, or online, on your terms, you have the opportunity meet academic requirements without sacrificing personal or professional duties.

YOU SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE ACCESS TO FACULTY AND STAFF.

Our online math, science, technology, and writing centers offer support whenever, wherever you have an Internet connection. Our professors are just a click away. You can email them directly from the classroom or contact them during online office hours. Campus students have access in person through regular office hours.
